Geneviève Côté (Frilance Édition Inc.)

A lawyer and music aficionado, Geneviève Côté has been active in the music business since 1998 when she joined Productions J as administrative services manager, a position whose responsibilities included dealing with a variety of television production companies and, as a financial manager, with a number of government and financial institutions.

For more than eight years now, she has divided her time between artist management (Ian Kelly and Jon Day), music publishing (Ian Kelly, Andre Papanicolaou, Jean-Frédéric Messier, Marc-André Chabot) and music production and promotion.

Since 2006, Geneviève has been very productive on the Montreal local scene, where she has worked variously as a public relations officer, a talent agent and a concert and music video producer. Over the years, she has submitted funding applications to FACTOR, Musicaction, the Radio Starmaker Fund, SODEC, CALQ (Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec) and the Canada Council for the Arts for Canadian and international projects involving many of the Francophone and Anglophone artists and clients she represents.

Geneviève has been a member of the SOCAN and SOCAN Foundation boards for the past three years, and is a former board member of SOPREF, SODRAC and the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (CSHF).

Frilance Édition represents songwriters and audiovisual and theatre music composers.
