Presented to people who have greatly contributed to Canada’s music industry and/or musical heritage over the course of their career.
Bob Ezrin's musical career spans more than 40 years, and this veteran music producer has worked on recordings with the likes of KISS, Pink Floyd, Rod Stewart and Lou Reed, sometimes co-writing, arranging, and performing on those albums as well as producing them. he produced Pink Floyd's The Wall, and has a rich history of hugely successful collaborations with Alice Cooper, including such ground-breaking albums as School's Out and Welcome To My Nightmare. Ezrin was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2004, and into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2006. He also spends much of his time serving his community in many capacities. To name just two, Ezrin is a founder of MusiCounts, CARAS' music education initiative, and a co-founder of Music Rising, an initiative to preserve the musical culture of New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. He organized, assembled and produced the recording session for the Haiti benefit single and video of K'NAAN's "Wavin' Flag" in 2010. SOCAN is proud to honour this legendary musical figure.
