Three SOCAN members were honoured at the 13 th annual Jutra Awards, the Quebec film awards ceremony, held March 13, 2011, at Montreal’s Saint-Denis Theatre and televised live by Radio-Canada. Already the subject of a special Jutra Tribute as part of the same ceremony, the actor, singer-songwriter and former senator Jean Lapointe received the Jurta for Best Supporting Actor for director Robin Aubert’s À l'origine d'un cri (Crying Out). Composers Guy Bélanger and Benoît Charest were honoured in the Best Original Music category for Louis Bélanger’s Route 132.

The other SOCAN member nominees in the latter category were:
• Michel Cusson, for Reste avec moi;
• Julien Knafo, for Lucidité passagère (Transitory Lucidity); and
• Martin Léon, for Le journal d'Aurélie Laflamme.

Brilliantly co-hosted by actors Sylvie Moreau and Yves P. Pelletier, the 2011 Jutra ceremony saw no less than nine awards – including Best Film, Best Direction and Best Screenplay – presented to Denis Villeneuve’s Oscar-nominated Incendies, which had also just received the Genie Award for Best Motion Picture on March 10.
