Dear Editor:
I am new in the concert promoting business, so many things are still a bit unclear. Can you please explain how your Tariff 4A2 works?
-- Connexion Reader

Dear Reader:
Welcome to the business. Tariff 4A2 states that the fee payable per concert is 3% of gross receipts from ticket sales or 3% of fees paid to performers. Therefore, each concert under Tariff 4A2 must be charged at either of those rates depending on whether the concert is free or not. Example : A presenter has six ticketed concerts and four free concerts during the year. The six ticketed concerts will be charged at 3% of gross receipts from ticket sales and the other four concerts at 3% of fees paid to performers. If the annual fee payable for all concerts, ticketed and free, is less than the minimum fee ($60) owed for that year, then the minimum fee applies.
