SOCAN was pleased to honour the four members of Faber Drive with a No. 1 Award for their song “Tongue Tied,” which reached the top spot on MuchMusic's Countdown chart on Nov. 29, 2007.

SOCAN’s Lynn Ross DeViller and Aidyl Jago presented the No. 1 Awards to Faber Drive’s David Faber, David Hinsley, Jeremy Liddle and Raymond Bull (and their manager, Kevin “Chief” Zaruk) at The Shark Club in Langley, B.C., on Feb. 11, 2008. Producer Brian Howes and 604 Records label head/Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, both of whom co-wrote the song with the band, were unable to attend the presentation.

The mood was celebratory as the bandmembers received the plaques for their first No. 1 Song, surrounded by 30 friends and family members, not far from their hometown of Mission, B.C.

“Tongue Tied” is published by Anaesthetic Publishing, High Buck Publishing, Jerminy Krikit Publishing Inc., Purrfuct Pitch Publishing Inc., Red Worm Publishing Inc., Riis Pafa Publishing Inc., Warner Tamerlane Publishing Co. Two days later, SOCAN’s DeViller and Jago presented Brian Howes with two No. 1 Song Awards – one for co-writing “Tongue Tied,” and another for co-writing Hedley’s “She’s So Sorry”. Howes took some time out from producing the second record for Oklahoma rockers Hinder – whose debut album Extreme Behavior, produced and co-written with Howes, has achieved triple-platinum status in the U.S. (3 million units sold) – to accept his awards at his Van Howes studio in Vancouver.
