SOCAN was pleased to honour the four members of State of Shock with a No. 1 Award for their song “Best I Ever Had,” which reached the top spot on MuchMoreMusic's Countdown chart on Nov. 7, 2008.
SOCAN’s Lynn Ross DeViller and Sara Pavilionis presented the No. 1 Award plaques to State of Shock members and songwriters Jean Philippon, Cameron Melnyk, Jesse Wainwright and Simon Clow (and Alfie Williams, the general manager of their record label, Cordova Bay). The band members received their honours backstage after a sound check at The Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, on Dec. 16, 2008. The band accepted the award in the presence of their families and close friends, and expressed their great gratitude to SOCAN.
The song is published by Cordova Bay Music Publishing.
