SOCAN was the proud music sponsor for three 2008 Savour Food & Wine trade shows in Atlantic Canada over the past few months:
- In Halifax, N.S., on Feb. 28, at the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel
- In St. John’s, N.L., on April 17, at the Delta St. John’s Hotel Convention Centre
- In Moncton, N.B., on May 1, at the Delta Beauséjour
SOCAN member and industry relations executive Tim Hardy attended both the Halifax and Moncton events, mingling and chatting casually about SOCAN with musicians, restaurant owners, vintners and the general public. SOCAN was happy to show the restaurant sector that we want to help them grow and prosper through our sponsorship of this flagship event of the Atlantic Provinces Restaurant Association (APRA).
“APRA was pleased to have SOCAN as their first Atlantic sponsor for the Savour Food & Wine shows in each of the Atlantic Provinces,” said Gordon W. Stewart, executive director of the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia (RANS). “SOCAN‘s contribution for entertainment added a great musical dimension to Atlantic Canada’s best food and wine show. The APRA group looks forward to working with SOCAN on future projects.”
The Halifax event was sold out, as usual (the event began in Halifax five years ago and has sold out each year), and this year the show expanded to include St. John’s and Moncton. Both of those new events were resounding successes, and APRA will expand again in 2009 to include Charlottetown, P.E.I.
