Canadian Consulate to support L.A. showcases

Music publishers, managers, publicists, agents and record labels that have artists playing either public shows or private industry showcases in Los Angeles are invited to contact the Canadian Consulate in that city to receive some support in getting the word out.

If your artist is booked to do a public show, the Consulate can notify the local expatriate Canadian community via Connect 2 Canada – the virtual network of Canadians living in the U.S. – by sending targeted e-mails to Canadians registered in the greater Los Angeles area.

If your artist is doing a private industry showcase, the Consulate will send a targeted e-mail to local L.A. music industry professionals – a “Canadian Music Alert” invitation to attend. An alert can also be sent to inform them of a public show – as an FYI that great Canadian talent is in town.

These services are provided to full-time, Canada-based artists signed to Canadian labels and music publishers. Managers, publicists, agents, record labels and music publishers are invited to contact Carl McMullin at Carl.McMullin@international.gc.ca to provide the Consulate with scheduled dates and artist information. Applicants should provide one paragraph about the artist and include links to the record label, official website and MySpace page. A small J-peg photo should also be included if possible.
