Electronica act Black Turtle Dove, of Mississauga, Ont., featuring SOCAN members Roberto Philipp and Cynthia Kaarto, has won the Best Easy Listening Act and Best Easy Listening Song awards at the Fame Games Effigy Awards in Spain.

“These awards showed us that more people are embracing our music,” says Philipp. “It was a complete surprise!”

The band, which was formed three years ago, is working on its debut album, I Was Small, which is scheduled for a spring release.
