Russell Broom won the SOCAN-sponsored honour for Best Original Musical Score – Drama at the 37th annual Alberta Media Production Industries Association (AMPIA) Awards (also known as the Rosies), held May 28, 2011, at the Edmonton Marriott at River Cree Resort. Broom was acknowledged for his work on the movie June, produced by Combustion.

The winner of the Best Original Musical Score – Non-Fiction was Beau Shiminsky for Awakening the Skeena, produced by Skeena Productions/Nomadic Pictures.

Dave Pierce was honoured with the Special Achievement Award in recognition of his enitre body of work.

The awards were hosted by Steve Patterson (of CBC Radio One), with music provided by Barrage, a high-octane fiddle-fest that features an international, multi-talented cast performing an eclectic mix of music, song and dance. Additional SOCAN members in attendance included Mike Shields and Alec Harrison. SOCAN's Sara Pavilionis and Michelle Dubuc also attended the event.
