SOCAN's got game!

The Lachute Golf Club teemed with activity on June 16, 2009, when SOCAN partnered once again with our long-term client and friend, L'Association des restaurateurs du Québec (ARQ), on the occasion of the organization's annual Golf Open Championship.

The friendly competition brought ARQ members together with a variety of Quebec restaurant suppliers and other industry players for a day of casual fun. SOCAN took the opportunity to remind this important client group of the major role music plays in the success of their businesses.

Stéphane Soucy, Assistant Manager, Business Development, for SOCAN’s Licensing Department, attended his first tournament this year. As he watched some 150 golfers file by SOCAN's famous Prize Wheel, he was struck by the participants' friendliness and open-mindedness. "This kind of event is crucial for SOCAN," he later said. "It provides us with great visibility at reasonable expense. Our clients feel better knowing that SOCAN is a real organization managed by real people. Meeting our clients face-to-face is a great part of our client relationship activities."

Relationship Specialist Yanik Hardy, also of Business Development, was on hand to present Aliments Saveur Santé's Céline Salicco with the prize she won by spinning the wheel – a SOCAN radio cooler.
