Western Canadian SOCAN members and musicians are invited to submit now for the 2011 BreakOut West Festival and the 2011 Western Canadian Music Awards (WCMAs). Submissions will be accepted until the deadline of 11:00 p.m. CST on Sunday, April 24, 2011.

BreakOut West is scheduled for Oct. 20-23, 2011, in Whitehorse, Yukon. The event, co-sponsored by SOCAN, includes a three-day workshop conference, a two-day showcase festival, the Western Canadian Music Awards Gala and the Industry Awards Brunch.

The Western Canadian Music Alliance (WCMA) will provide a limited amount of travel funding in addition to traditional showcase support sources (FACTOR, your provincial music industry association, etc.). Those performers chosen to attend the conference or perform on the awards show will be contacted regarding funding opportunites.
