SOCAN composers and lyricists Anthony Vanderburgh and Donald Breithaupt of DNA Music Productions have won a 2009 Daytime Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Original Song – Main Title and Promo, for their catchy theme to the animated youth-oriented television series 6TEEN. The theme song was produced by Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Studio.

6TEEN, an animated situation comedy focusing on the lives of six 16-year-old teens, and set entirely in a gigantic shopping mall, was created by Fresh TV Inc. It currently airs on television networks throughout the world, including The Cartoon Network in the U.S. and Teletoon in Canada.

Breithaupt and Vanderburgh have also won several SOCAN awards over the past few years for their work on 6TEEN.

The Daytime Emmy Awards ceremonies were held Aug. 30, 2009, at the Historic Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.
