Quebec City composer Bruno Fecteau dies at 52
Composer, orchestrator, arranger and producer Bruno Fecteau died suddenly on January 8, 2011, at the age of 52. A prolific creator with more than 85 works to his credit, the Rimouski-born musician was active in Quebec City as a composer and teacher. Some of his works were written in collaboration with the singer-songwriter Gilles Vigneault, for whom he had worked as a pianist and music director for the past 15 years. He also co-produced Lever du jour, an album by his life partner, the SOCAN member Paule-Andrée Cassidy, that was awarded the Grand Prize of the Charles Cros Academy in 2002. He is survived by a three-year-old son, Pierre.
