SOCAN Foundation introduces new $21,000 competition for audio-visual composers

The SOCAN Foundation has introduced some changes and refinements to its existing granting programs for 2011, and has created a new awards program, the SOCAN Foundation Awards for Audio-visual Composers. The new competition is designed to recognize Canadian composers under 32 years of age for original musical themes or scores created exclusively for audio-visual support (TV, film, Internet, etc.). A total of $21,000 in prizes is available. The competition’s first application deadline is June 15, 2011.
