Fourteen SOCAN members nominated for 2011 Grammy Awards

The Recording Academy has honoured 14 SOCAN members with nominations, including several in the most prestigious categories, for the 53rd annual Grammy Awards, to be held and broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Feb. 13, 2011. Drake leads our member nominations with four, while Arcade Fire have garnered three, and Michael Bublé has two.
The full list of Grammy-nominated SOCAN members is as follows:
* Michael Bublé - Best Male Pop Vocal Performance (for "Haven't Met You Yet"), Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album (for Crazy Love)
* Alex Cuba - Best Latin Pop Album (for Alex Cuba)
* Arcade Fire - Album of the Year (for The Suburbs), Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals (for "Ready To Start"), Best Alternative Music Album (also for The Suburbs)
* Drake - Best New Artist, Best Rap Solo Performance (for "Over"), Best Rap Performance by a Duo Or Group (for "Fancy," recorded with T.I. & Swiss Beatz), Best Rap Album (for Thank Me Later)
* Melanie Fiona - Best Rap/Sung Collaboration (for "Wake Up! Everybody," recorded with John Legend, The Roots and Common)
* Marc-André Hamelin - Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (without Orchestra) (for Hamelin: Études)
* Rush - Best Long Form Music Video (for Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage)
Other Canadians nominated for 2011 Grammy Awards include Justin Bieber (twice), Measha Brueggergosman, The Elora Festival Singers, Michael J. Fox, Northern Cree and Neil Young (three times).
