SOCAN was pleased to honour the writers of Neverest's hit song “About Us,” which topped the MuchMoreMusic Countdown chart Feb. 25, 2011.

Jodie Ferneyhough, from SOCAN's Board of Directors, presented the No. 1 Award plaques on May 3, 2011, at Sassafraz restaurant in downtown Toronto's chic Yorkville district. The honoured SOCAN members were Neverest frontman Spyros “Spee” Chalkiotis and non-band co-writers Chris "CJ" Huyer, Mike Kiofos and Angelo "Levi" Themelkos. Other co-writers were Anthony "Tone" Jones (ASCAP), who attended the celebration, and Tommy Brown (ASCAP), who could not attend.

SOCAN's Jason Belo, Ted Seto, Rodney Murphy, Vicki Walters, and Irene Zeltway also attended the presentation, as did the other Neverest bandmembers, and the group's support network of management, publishers, and promotional staff.

The song is published by SOCAN publisher members Neverest Songs Publishing and Murray Daigle Publishing, as well as Music is Me Publishing (ASCAP) and TB Hits (ASCAP).
