SOCAN was pleased to honour Lights with a No. 1 Award for her song “Drive Your Soul,” which reached the top spot on the MuchMusic Countdown on Jan. 8, 2009.

SOCAN board member and Sony/ATV Music Publishing Canada publisher Gary Furniss presented Lights with the No. 1 Award plaque during a celebratory luncheon at the Ki restaurant in downtown Toronto on Dec. 15, 2009.

Also honoured was her co-writer on the song, Thomas "Tawgs" Salter, as well as Furniss himself, as a representative of the song's publisher, Sony/ATV. Lights' manager Jian Ghomeshi, also a CBC Radio host (of the Q program), was present at the event as well.
