SOCAN members Cœur de pirate, Marie-Mai and Ginette Reno received Rencontres Awards for best physical and digital sales as part of the 2010 Soirée de remise des Prix Rencontres, hosted by Mitsou Gélinas at Montreal’s TELUS Theatre on Monday, June 14. Ten Rencontres Awards were also presented to radio and music industry professionals for their 2009 achievements as part of the ceremony, which usually includes performances by recent music competition and festival winners. This year’s featured artist was Bernard Adamus, winner of both SOCAN’s 2009 ECHO Songwriting Prize and the 2010 Francouvertes contest.
