Saskatoon band The Sheepdogs has won the Rolling Stone magazine cover contest.

Led by SOCAN member Ewan Currie, Saskatoon-based, vintage-vibe rock band The Sheepdogs has won the first-ever Rolling Stone magazine cover contest.

The Sheepdogs will appear on the cover of the Aug. 18, 2011 issue of Rolling Stone; have won a recording contract with Atlantic Records; and performed live on the Aug. 2, 2011 edition of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

The Sheepdogs were the only Canadian artist in the initial selection of 16 contestants and will be the first unsigned band to ever appear on the cover of Rolling Stone.
