Sarah Toussaint-Léveillé wins SOCAN Best Song Award at Festival de la chanson de St-Ambroise

SOCAN member Sarah Toussaint-Léveillé received the $1,000 SOCAN Best Song Award for her song « La mal lunée » during the Aug. 2, 2011, final of the competition at the 20th annual Festival de la chanson de St-Ambroise. The festival was held in central Quebec’s Saguenay area Aug. 12-20, and the competition final was held in the Marcel Claveau Amphitheatre and was followed with a concert starring the well-known SOCAN member Pépé.

On Aug. 18, Member Services Representative Laurie Lapointe hosted a Copyright Info Session for all songwriters participating in the competition, which includes performers from three age groups: 7-12 years old, 13-17 years old, and 18 years old and over.
