Julie Aubé receives SOCAN Best Song Award at Le Tremplin

SOCAN participated in the 11th annual Dégelis Song and Comedy Festival, Le Tremplin, held May 16-23, 2010, in Eastern Quebec near the New Brunswick and Maine borders. SOCAN Member Services Training and Industry Relations Specialist Stéphanie Falco presented an info session to all song contestants on May 21. Tweo days later, SOCAN member Pierre Flynn presented the $1,000 SOCAN Beat Song Award to Julie Aubé, from Dieppe, N.B., for “La Chartersville.”
Stéphanie Falco was also a member of the jury for the final, along with singer Marie Denise Pelletier, actor Raymond Legault and Annick Charette, Valérie Boivin, Dominick Trudeau and Benoit Chartier. The top winner of the 2010 event in the Singer-Songwriter category was Klô Pelgag, from Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, Quebec. For more information on this festival, please visit Le Tremplin’s website.
