AFF offers two opportunities for Atlantic Canadian musicians

If you’re a musician in Atlantic Canada, and want to make a free video for one of your songs, or get a song in the hands of music supervisors and other key film and TV industry presonnel, you have until the deadline of 5 p.m. on June 15th to take advantage of two opportunities offered by the Atlantic Film Festival (AFF).
The 10 X 10 Music Video Mentorship program pairs 10 Atlantic Canadian filmmakers with 10 Atlantic Canadian musicians/bands this September, to produce 10 music videos, over two days of advance online training and five days of on-the-ground shooting and editing, from Sept. 8-15. Selected filmmakers and musicians will have access to mentors, professional film equipment and post-production support during the five-day program. The program was created and is produced by music video director Norwood Cheek, and is facilitated by award-winning video director Kyle Davison. The collaborating artists will premiere their music videos in front of fans, delegates and industry professionals from around the world, at a special screening during the Music & Image Conference at the AFF. The RBC Emerging Artists Award this year will include a $10,000 cash prize to be split amongst the winning video production team, as chosen by a panel of jurors and fans. The AFF, in partnership with the East Coast Music Association, is also producing the eighth annual edition of the Music & Image Digital Compilation. This promotional compilation will expose Atlantic Canadian artists to opportunities in the film, television, advertising and gaming sectors. It's distributed to key industry players in both the national and international marketplace, including approximately 1,000 delegates attending the AFF and Strategic Partners Conference, as well as approximately 1,500 delegates at the 2013 East Coast Music Week in Halifax, NS.
