SOCAN chief of Québec Affairs, Geneviève Côté, and account executive David Charest suprised singer-songwriter Alexandre Poulin with a SOCAN No. 1 Song Award, during his performance at Salle Maurice O’Bready, in Sherbrooke, Québec, on Feb. 8, 2018.

The honour celebrates the radio success of his song “Nos cœurs qui battent,” published by Les Éditions Gémeaux and Les Éditions du Téléscope, which reached the top of the charts on Dec. 13, 2016.

Alexandre Poulin proudly poses with his No. 1 Song Award, accompanied by SOCAN Account Executive David Charest.

This show was a special one for Poulin, since it was a homecoming. He saw many of his idols, like Gilles Vigneault, on the stage of that very same venue, and promised himself that one day, “I, too, will play that stage.” The promise came true for the first time that night, in front of about 800 people. Poulin's mother, father, brother and wife were all there, making this show – and the award – even more special.

SOCAN congratulates the artist and co-publishers for their well-deserved success!
