SOCAN member and 2018 Grammy Award double-nominee Daniel Ceasar – along with Dear Rouge, Neon Dreams, and Iskwé – all played captivating live sets for a packed audience of more than 150 at the “Northern Beat” pre-Grammy party. The reception, supported by SOCAN, was held in the early evening of Jan. 25, 2018, at The Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City.

Held a few nights before the 60th annual Grammy Awards show, the party – hosted by television broadcaster and producer Aliya Jasmine – offered an opportunity for SOCAN to build and foster its relationships with our members, nominees, their professional music business representatives, and other music industry influencers and decision-makers.

Beyoncé’s team attended the party to meet man-of-the-hour Daniel Caesar, who spoke kindly about SOCAN, and said he was proud to be a member of our organization. Among the SOCAN member attendees was Tom Cochrane, who very much enjoyed the Dear Rouge performance. Canada enthusiast and Oscar-winning filmmaker Michael Moore also attended – wearing a “Canada” baseball cap, and ending the event by singing our national anthem!
