SOCAN congratulated Fast Romantics frontman and songwriter Matthew Angus and his publisher, Red Brick Music Publishing, with a No. 1 Song Award for their champion song, “Why We Fight,” battling its way to the top of the CBC Radio 2 Top 20 chart on Feb. 9, 2017. "Why We Fight" is co-written by Gus Van Go (already awarded by SOCAN during CMW 2017), and co-published by Postwar Inc.

SOCAN A&R Administrator Melissa Cameron presented the award on May 18, 2017, during a celebratory Happy Hour reception at The Loveless Café, in the West end of downtown Toronto.

SOCAN congratulates the entire Fast Romantics squad on this great achievement!
