Héra Ménard wins SOCAN award at Tremplin de Dégelis 2012

SOCAN recently took part in the 13th annual Tremplin de Dégelis, the southern Quebec music and comedy festival held May 16-20, 2012. SOCAN's Stéphanie Falco presented a SOCAN Info Session to the competition participants on May 19, and presented the SOCAN Best Song Award the following day. The winner, Quebec City’s Héra Ménard, won a $1,000 cash prize for her song “Et si…” as well as a spot in the upcoming edition of the Ma Première Place des Arts competition.

Falco was also one of the jurors for the competition finals, along with SOCAN member Marie Denise Pelletier and singer Marie-Élaine Thibert. The top winner in the singer-songwriter category was the Acadian artist Alexandre Dionne, from Edmundston, N.B.
