Rose Cousins garners a leading eight nominations for 2018 East Coast Music Awards

Rose Cousins leads the pack for the 30th annual East Coast Music Awards (ECMAs) with eight nominations, while Jenn Grant follows closely with six, and Ria Mae, KINLEY, and Joel Plaskett have each eaerned four.

The ECMA Awards gala is set for May 3, 2018, hosted by Jonathan Torrens at The Scotiabank Centre in Halifax. Classified will present the live debut of his new single "Powerless" during the show, which will also feature live performances from Sloan, Measha Brueggergosman, Joel Plaskett, Rose Cousins, The East Pointers, Port Cities, The Once, The Barra MacNeils, Universal Soul, Les Hay Babies, City Natives, KINLEY, Quake Matthews, and Makayla Lynn.

SOCAN will be undertaking its fourth annual Song House songwriting camp during the week as well, and will also present the annual Songwriters Circle on May 6, 2018, in the Schooner Room at Casino Nova Scotia. This year, Alan Doyle hosts the circle, which will feature songs and stories from Rose Cousins, Jenn Grant, Carleton Stone (of Port Cities), Lennie Gallant, Adam Baldwin, and Reeny Smith.
