SOCAN celebrates A Tribe Called Red with No. 1 Song Award

SOCAN held a No.1 Song Award presentation for the song “R.E.D.” with SOCAN members A Tribe Called Red – 2oolman, Bear Witness and DJ NDN – as well as their co-writer Narcy, also featured on the song, on March 31, 2017, at The Sheraton hotel in downtown Ottawa during JUNO Week.

SOCAN A&R Director Rodney Murphy presented the band with their SOCAN No. 1 Song Award for “R.E.D.” which topped the MuchMusic Countdown on Nov. 18, 2016. The song was also co-written with Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def, BMI).

Representatives of ATCR’s entire team attended the presentation as well: their managers Guillaume Decouflet and Christina Cassaro; Sean Ramesbottom, from their record label, Pirates Blend; their booking agent Adam Countryman of UTA; their tour manager Buddha; their publicist Amanda McCauley of Indoor Recess; and SOCAN CEO Eric Baptiste, President Stan Meissner, Chief Membership and Business Development Officer Michael McCarty, Chief Québec Affairs Officer Geneviève Côté, and Legal Counsel Gilles Daigle, as well as SOCAN’s Melissa Cameron, Jeff Knights and Howard Druckman.

SOCAN congratulates A Tribe Called Red, and their whole team, on their latest No. 1 Song, and on their 2017 JUNO Award win as Jack Richardson Producer of the Year!
