SOCAN co-sponsors Radio Star New Songwriters Workshop Tour

SOCAN is co-sponsoring the Radio Star New Songwriters Workshop Tour, providing educational sessions at all of the 10 workshops for new songwriters to be held across Canada from Sept. 29 through Oct. 28, 2012. These workshops are $40m in advance and $60 at the door, but SOCAN members pay only 30$ when they register using the discount code SOCAN041.
 
The schedule of workshops is as follows:
 
Saturday, Sept. 29 - Regina, SK, The Artful Dodger Café &  Music Emporium
Sunday, Sept. 30 – Winnipeg, MB, The West End Cultural Centre
SOCAN’s Terry O'Brien will lead the SOCAN info session in Regina, while Rodney Murphy  will lead the one in Winnipeg. Singer-songwriter Tom Wilson (of Blackie & the Rodeo Kings) will also participate in both.
 
Saturday Oct. 13 - Toronto, ON, Metalworks Institute
Sunday Oct. 14 – Montreal, QC, Tanna Schulich Hall, McGill 
Monday Oct. 15 - Ottawa, ON – Bronson Centre
SOCAN’s Rodney Murphy will lead the SOCAN info session in Toronto, while Marie-Pierre Brunelle will lead the sessions in Montreal and Ottawa. Singer-songwriter Arnold Lanni will participate in all three. 
 
Thursday Oct. 18 - Edmonton, AB, Transalta Arts Barn
Saturday Oct. 20 - Calgary, AB, Axe Music
Sunday Oct. 21 - Vancouver, BC, Tom Lee Music Hall
SOCAN’s Terry O'Brien will lead the SOCAN info sessions at the above three events, and singer-songwriter Rick Jackett (of Finger Eleven) will also participate in all three.
 
Saturday, Oct. 27 – Saint John, NB, Saint John Free Public Library
Sunday Oct. 28 – Halifax, NS, The Music Hall
SOCAN’s Rodney Murphy will lead these two SOCAN info sessions, and singer-songwriter James Black (of Finger Eleven) will also participate in both of them.
