The 28th Montréal SOCAN Awards Gala was held at La TOHU on Oct. 16, 2017. For the first time in the history of the SOCAN Awards Gala, two special achievement awards were bestowed on the same exceptional music creator, the legendary Robert Charlebois – who received the SOCAN Lifetime Achievement Award and also, alongside his collaborator Claude Péloquin, the SOCAN Cultural Impact Award for their monumental song “Lindberg.”

SOCAN was on the red carpet to capture Charlebois’ feedback a few minutes before the gala began. In this video interview, he explains how he always manages to keep the same intensity of feeling whenever he performs his old songs onstage, how “Lindberg” was created, how important SOCAN has been for his career, and why he’d like to continue to be creative for at least 10 more years.
