Pascale LeBlanc

Singer-songwriter

Song – "Le Doute" - Now playing...

Bio
As a little girl, Pascale LeBlanc developed an insatiable taste for music. After studying the piano since the age of six and pursuing her training through her CEGEP and University studies, she discovered the guitar and her true calling as a singer-songwriter-guitarist in her late teens.

Raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and educated in Quebec, Pascale LeBlanc’s music is influenced as much by West Indian rhythms as it is patterned on Quebec pop music, easily straddling colour, cultures and musical genres, to end up uniquely hers.

As a budding artist, LeBlanc performed her deeply personal songs in many competitions, first as a duo with the singer-songwriter Rioux as part of Manipulez avec Soin (Handle With Care), and later as a solo artist as part of the International Granby Song Festival, where she was a finalist in 1992 and received the Press Award. The 1996 of her first album Mes Différences was followed by a series of dates in small Quebec venues and cultural centres where she played opening sets for other arrtists or full concerts of her own.

Splitting her time between a rich family life, her work in a "day job" profession and her musical career, LeBlanc continued to develop her craft thanks to songwriting grants from the Quebec Arts and Letters Council and Musicaction.

After gaining studio experience through a number of creative projects, LeBlanc ended up with a significant repertoire of original songs and, in 2011, released a brilliantly self-produced four-song EP, Sur la Route du Flamboyant, that opened more doors on the live performance circuit and will be followed with a second full-length album in 2012.
