You can keep your feet warm this holiday season, and support musicians who need help at the same time, just by buying a pair of SOCAN’s limited edition "Music ♥'s Everybody" holiday socks. All profits from the sale of the bilingual socks – and all of our other cool SOCAN merchandise – go to the Unison Benevolent Fund, a non-profit, registered charity that provides counselling and emergency relief services to the Canadian music community.

The socks are available  for $17 and can be purchased from SOCAN's Swag Shop.

“SOCAN provides a lot of charitable giving and support through sponsorships and employee efforts, and this year we created fun SOCAN Holiday Socks that carry our ‘Music ♥'s Everybody’ message,” said Andrew Berthoff, SOCAN’s Chief Communications & Marketing Officer. “The socks are also a part of our digital holiday cards, so, not only are we extending warm wishes, we’re helping to raise money for one of our favourite charities, the Unison Benevolent Fund.”

Hoilday socks are only the latest item available in our online merch store, which has offered a selection of baseball caps, T-shirts, and hooded sweatshirts since it opened a year ago in December of 2016, with all profits going to the Unison Benevolent Fund.

SOCAN’s support of Unison through swag sales is only one example of our charitable practices and policies, working to give back to the communities in which we operate. For example, in 2017 SOCAN and its employees contributed more than $8,500 to a fund helping the employees of Clear Harbor – one of SOCAN’s third-party suppliers – who were impacted by Hurricane Maria in Dominica. SOCAN collected and donated more than 1,550 lbs. of non-perishable food items to the Toronto Harvest Food Bank in 2016. And The SOCAN Foundation has awarded 6,000 grants to emerging music creators, and more than $25 million to music initiatives, in the past 25 years.
